The theme for this week’s JVG Radio Method poem is “ Le and La “.

No idea what Jon was thinking this week…

Ed Bates supplied the guitar backing this week

Le & La

Le and La – you’re joshing, right
Baiting a hook and expect me to bite

Pushing the boundaries, making me squirm
Well the bait’s off the hook, Jon, I’m no wriggling worm

I love a challenge – make no mistake
But Le and La – c’mon, give me a break

You choose the theme – you are the boss
But why this arty, indulgent dross?

It’s peachy for you: you’re okay
Le and La, you’ll find plenty to play

Keith won’t struggle with his intellect
Dan, well he’s never thematically correct

Anthony Morgan, he can’t go wrong
He’ll dig up some obscure Cajun song

You can Google song titles, check there’s enough
But consider the poet? Nah, who gives a stuff

“He’ll come up with something” you quickly dismiss
Well I’ve come up with something – I’ve come up with this

I refuse to be bullied by your dulcet tones
It’s community radio – you’re not Alan Jones

You know full well when I went overseas
My French, so they told me, was “conneries”

Which means crap, Jon, crap, in the extreme
My French it is crap – and so is your theme

You are “un connard” – though my accent may suck
Translated means arsehole – or is a connard a duck?

Arsehole or duck, I don’t really care
You can shove this week’s theme up your tanned derriere

Is it Le? Is it La, I’m unsure of the gender
Of one thing I’m certain – return this to sender

Le and La – you heartless pratt
What sort of ludicrous theme is that

Le and La, oh for pity’s sake
All I ask is crumb – oh no, let him eat cake
