The theme for this week’s JVG Radio Method poem is “Times“.
Another show phoned in. The format this year is really giving us a bit of time to play with how the poems are presented…
Ed Bates provided the musical backings.
Thatch provided the audio production, have a listen to how it went below…

Times
The times they are a changing, changing as I speak
A minute becomes an hour becomes a day becomes a week
Slow as a glacier, the long goodbye
Or gone in a heartbeat, blink of an eye
Flowers bud, cells decay
Galaxies, DNA
Cities born, cliffs erode
Knowledge blossoms, wisdom wanes
Wounds heal, bombs explode
Mercy drags its rusting chains
Empires rise, forests fall
Ideas emerge, ideologies brawl
The right swings left and the left swings right
Grief seeks comfort; injustice finds sorrow
The sky you’ll gaze upon tomorrow
Is not the sky you’ll see tonight
Truth retreats, ignorance breeds
Logic lost to noxious weeds
Insects swarm, egos swell
Floods subside, give way to drought
Luck runs in and luck runs out
Storms abate, thoughts rebel
Man decrees and Gods are made
Dogma blooms as freedoms fade
Life evolves, dreams take root
Trust spreads seed and hope bears fruit
Every cloud and constellation
Every star, every grain
Every moment in all creation
Throughout the universe, no two the same
The times they are a changing; not if, not even when
In the time it’s taken to read this verse, the times have changed again
