Bland On Bland – Inflatable Things

Bland On Bland – The BookThe theme for this week’s JVG Radio Method poem is “Inflatable Things“.

Well, that was worthy of BBC radio farce. I could hear JVG, the audience could hear us both but JVG claimed he couldn’t hear me. So he gave up just put the poem to air and then claimed he couldn’t hear the poem either.

I think Jon left the mute button on but we will never know, will we?

Bland On Bland – Sailors

Bland On Bland – The BookThe theme for this week’s JVG Radio Method poem is “Sailors“.

A good theme this week. JVG and I chatted about catamarans, sailboards, not drowning (waving?) and the wisdom of our good friend Horse from the Large Number 12’s.

The chat lasted way longer than the poem does. Irony it would seem is alive and well.

Bland On Bland – Get Outta Town

Bland On Bland – The BookThe theme for this week’s JVG Radio Method poem is “Get Outta Town“.

No prizes for guessing the inspiration for JVG’s choice of them this week. And to make it even better I wrote and recorded in the “wilds” of Gippsland. I had to go down to Mt Best and do some work getting ready for the fire season.

So you could say it’s a bit personal this week.

Bland On Bland – Accident

Bland On Bland – The BookThe theme for this week’s JVG Radio Method poem is “Accident / Collision“.

Once again the larger world provides the allegorical inspiration for this weeks poem.

JVG and  I discussed car accidents I had been in and the virtues of retractable seatbelts.

We also touched on NAIDOC week and the American election, all rather business as usual I guess.

Bland On Bland – Ring

Bland On Bland – The BookThe theme for this week’s JVG Radio Method poem is “Ring“.

Ring? OK JVG? Ring like in a phone call? Or in a piece of jewellery? Or as in a an imaginary ( but no less expensive) fence around a major urban centre in a southern state?

He really can make it difficult some weeks. In the end I went with jewellery, I had an idea and it was “gold” as they say.

Bland On Bland – Zero

Bland On Bland – The BookThe theme for this week’s JVG Radio Method poem is “Zero“.

What can I say about this weeks theme, JVG sometimes really can make it difficult.

We chatted about daylight saving, the new book ( yes there is a new book coming ) and of course the zero community covid transmissions. Hence the choice of theme.

I also contributed the samples for the backing this week and complicated Ed and Thatch’s life immensely. It was fun, I look forward to doing it again
